Subject: MEMPHIS->Spectacle | Haleakala->Munchkin
Buddha debut / Inverted Rock Candy debut / Buddha is nice and all, but in retrospect doesn't stand out from literally hundreds of similar jams.
The Biscuits and the slow jams.. It's a shame that their fans definition of a good show is so incredibly narrow, the Biscuits can make some fascinatingly psychedelic music when they slow down, but oh my GOD you've never seen venues turn into one giant conversation quicker than when the Disco Biscuits attempt (and somehow succeed despite all the inane chatter) to play something gorgeous and contemplative instead of beating themselves over the head with the 9 millionth variation on the Nughuffer jam.
Hope>Ladies builds in a great way. The jam before Munchkin could be a contender for the best jam of '02, and the munchkin is way too fun.
Buddha (debut)> Candy/Rock> Buddha is awesome. Maybe the best Buddha of the Sammy years. Bazaar is great. MEMPHIS>Spectacle is good, but a little out of tune on Barber's part.
Jigsaw>Sound 1> Jigsaw is a powerhouse start to fin.
The Boop was played to perfection. It's sad if the recording is flawed. Great show.
